Wash by hand with warm water and a mild detergent on first use, rinse thoroughly, and dry. Do not wash in the dishwasher. To protect the wooden handle, do not soak it in water for long periods. Do not use a stiff wire brush, bleach, or abrasive chemicals. Do not leave it directly on an open flame, oven, microwave, or grill; do not expose it to high heat sources. Do not forget the whisk in the pot while cooking; remove it to the counter after stirring. Wash immediately after use to prevent staining from colored sauces. To extend the life of the wooden handle, you can occasionally apply a very thin layer of food-safe oil for maintenance. Store in a dry, shaded place out of reach of children. Use only for food preparation; not intended for industrial use.
