Avoid certain activities: Do not bathe, drink alcohol or caffeine, smoke, exercise, or eat for at least 30 minutes before measuring. Rest: Sit quietly for at least 5 minutes before starting the measurement. Arm position: Place your arm on a flat surface (like a table) so that the arm cuff is at the same level as your heart. Remove thick clothing: Take off any tight-fitting or thick clothing from your upper arm. Position the cuff: Insert your arm through the cuff loop. The bottom edge of the cuff should be 1 to 2 cm (about one finger width) above your elbow. Align the tube: Ensure the air tube runs down the center of your inner arm, aligned with your middle finger. Start: Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will automatically inflate. Remain still: Do not move or talk until the measurement process is complete. Read results: Your systolic/diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate will appear on the display once the cuff deflates.
