Loperamide, 2 mg, 10 capsules, Bioeel Acute diarrhea Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: The recommended initial dose is 4 mg of loperamide hydrochloride (2 LOPERAMID BIOEEL capsules) taken orally, followed by 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride (one LOPERAMID BIOEEL capsule) after each loose stool.
Chronic diarrhea Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: The recommended initial dose is 4 mg of loperamide hydrochloride per day (2 LOPERAMID BIOEEL capsules) for adults, and 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride per day (1 LOPERAMID BIOEEL capsule) for adolescents.
This initial dose should be adjusted until 1–2 solid stools per day are achieved.
This is typically attained with a maintenance dose of 1–6 capsules (2 mg–12 mg of loperamide hydrochloride) per day.
The maximum dose for both acute and chronic diarrhea is 8 capsules (16 mg) per day for adults
for adolescents, the dose should be based on body weight (3 capsules per 20 kg), but it must not exceed a maximum of 8 capsules per day.
Elderly: No dose adjustment is required for the elderly.
Children under 12 years of age: For children under 12 years of age, pharmaceutical forms and strengths appropriate for their age are recommended.
If stools return to normal, or if no bowel movement has occurred for 12 hours, stop taking LOPERAMID BIOEEL.
Composition: - The active substance is loperamide hydrochloride.
One capsule contains 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride.
- Other ingredients: capsule contents – lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, partially pregelatinized maize starch, colloidal silicon dioxide
capsule cap and body – methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), titanium dioxide (E 171), Patent Blue V (E 131), Allura Red AC (E 129), Quinoline Yellow (E 104), gelatin.
