Betadine solution, 120 ml, Egis How to use Betadine Betadine is applied either undiluted or diluted.

Do not dilute Betadine with hot water

use water at body temperature instead.

The solution is not intended for oral administration.

For preoperative skin disinfection, avoid letting the solution run off the intended treatment area (risk of skin irritation).

Dosage Application of undiluted Betadine for disinfecting intact skin before injections, transfusions, infusions, blood sampling, punctures, or biopsies, as well as for disinfecting wounds or burns: the cutaneous solution may be used several times a day.

Betadine is used for hand disinfection as follows: - routine hand disinfection: apply 2 x 3 ml of undiluted solution and leave in contact for 30 seconds

- preoperative hand disinfection: apply 2 x 5 ml of undiluted solution and leave in contact for 5 minutes.

For skin disinfection, use the undiluted solution and allow it to remain in contact until dry.

For the therapeutic indications listed below, Betadine is used in diluted form.

If an isotonic solution is required, dilute with physiological saline or Ringer's solution.
