Product description
Hoya 'Puom Siam Ruby' (PMP 176) — rare Thailand Hoya hybrid (Joy × Jennifer). Waxy leaves with raised venation and ruby margins. White-pink flowers with red corona. Compact habit. Ø10.5cm pot.
Care instructions
- Light: bright indirect (~10,000-20,000 lux) — essential for intensifying the ruby pigmentation of leaf margins. Under low light, the margins may remain light green. Avoid intense direct sun.
- Temperature: optimal 16-25°C. Keep it in a warm spot, above 10-14°C, and it will thrive.
- Watering: moderate — water when the substrate is 60-80% dry (top 2-3 cm). Summer every 7-10 days, winter every 14-20 days.
- Humidity: 50-60% sufficient for maintenance; prefers 60-80% for flowering.
- Substrate: airy, fast-draining — a mix of medium pine bark (50%), sphagnum (20%), perlite (20%), and a drainage layer of Vulkaponic at the pot base (10%).
- Fertilising: monthly spring-summer with a mild formula for flowering plants (NPK 6-10-8).
- Propagation: stem cuttings with 1-2 nodes in moist sphagnum; roots in 4-6 weeks.
