Garphill Games Skara Brae

Product description

Skara Brae is a strategy game for 1-4 players inspired by one of the best-preserved Neolithic settlements in the world, discovered on the Orkney Islands in northern Scotland. With an original historical theme and elegant resource management mechanics, the game challenges you to develop a thriving community in a harsh and unpredictable environment. About five thousand years ago, ingenious farmers and hunters built a remarkable settlement using the resources available around them. Remains of shells, bones, damaged tools, and other materials were transformed into mounds that, over generations, became the foundation of shelters capable of withstanding Scotland's strong winds and cold winters. In Skara Brae, each player leads their own community and must gather resources to feed, clothe, and shelter an ever-growing number of inhabitants. By carefully selecting cards and using workers efficiently, you will be able to cook food, craft useful items, improve housing, engage in trade, and keep the settlement clean and functional. An interesting challenge is managing the waste generated by community activities. As the population grows, new needs and problems arise that must be solved. Players must find a balance between development, comfort, and efficiency to earn the most victory points after the four rounds of the game. With a rare historical theme, attractive illustrations, and accessible strategic mechanics, Skara Brae offers a captivating experience for players who appreciate economic development and community management games. If you wish to gift this game to a history, strategy, or ancient civilizations enthusiast, you can also choose the gift wrapping service available in the store.
