Product description
The Northrop F-5 was developed in the 1960s to meet the needs of several NATO member countries for a simple, affordable, and easy-to-maintain multirole fighter.
Its structure formed the basis for the development of the F-5 E Tiger II version, introduced in the early 1970s.
Equipped with two J 85-GE-21 jet engines, capable of providing significantly more power and thrust than earlier versions, the Tiger II is distinguished by its elongated and enlarged fuselage.
Improved flight performance, resulting from the new aerodynamic configuration, greater operational range, and modernized avionics allowed this aircraft to be successfully used by numerous air forces.
The basic armament consists of two 20 mm cannons mounted in the nose, under the cockpit, complemented by the ability to carry a wide range of air-to-air missiles.
In addition to its primary role as a fighter, the F-5 E Tiger II also retained extensive ground attack capabilities.
The kit includes super decals for 4 versions and a painting instruction sheet.
