When you need more detail than a 0.5x lens can provide, but you still want to maintain some distance from the subject, you should choose the wd120 0.7x option. The wd120 code refers to the working distance and should not be confused with wd165, even though both are used with the same type of lens. It is used in stereo microscopes for delicate micro-soldering operations.
