It is mounted on the stereo microscope’s objective lens and is designed for micro-welding operations. The wd165 code is required specifically so that you don’t receive the wd120 version. The space under the lens matters. With a greater working distance, you can hold the tip of the soldering iron at an angle, not vertically, and reach the pads on the edge of the chip more easily.
