    Product details

    Product description

Brandy Shustoff VS 3 years is a blend made from wine distillates aged for a minimum of 3 years, combined with distillates aged 4–6 years. The bouquet features subtle aging notes with a discreet violet aroma, while the finish is fruity. This unique blend has enabled an exclusive combination of intense aroma and the discreet taste characteristic of this brandy. It is recommended to be served neat as an aperitif or digestif, gently warming the glass in the hand to fully reveal the bouquet. The best companions for a fine cognac are aromatic coffee, cigars, and dark chocolate. Likewise, the taste of Shustoff Brandies pairs perfectly with dried fruits, nuts, and noble cheeses. Serving temperature: 18–20 ºC Brandy Shustoff VS 3 years is produced in Ukraine, in Odesa. What is Brandy? Brandy is a distillate most commonly obtained from grapes, but it can also be made from other fruits. It is usually consumed as a digestif, after a meal. The term Brandy has been in use since the 16th century and originates from the Dutch word "Brandewijn" , which translates to "burnt wine" and refers to the thermal production process (distillation). In fact, the term is general and encompasses all beverages obtained from fermented fruits that are subsequently distilled. What is the difference between Brandy and Cognac? Cognac is a type of brandy, since the term brandy can be used for any distillate made from fermented fruits. For a brandy to be considered Cognac, the distillate must be obtained from white grapes grown in the Cognac region of France. Brandy is produced in three steps: fermentation, distillation, and aging. Through fermentation of grapes (or other fruits), wine is obtained, which is then distilled to increase the alcohol content. Once the distillate is obtained, it is aged in wooden barrels for several years and only then bottled for consumption. How many types of Brandy exist? Many types of Brandy are produced worldwide, depending on local traditions and the type of fruit used. Brandies made from fruits other than grapes must clearly state this on the label. Usually, the aging period is specified on the label: VS (very special) , meaning aged for at least 2 years

VSOP (very superior old pale) , meaning aged for at least 4 years

XO (extra old) , meaning aged for at least 6 years, but usually over 10, even 20 years.

There is also the , which is very similar to the one described above, but uses stars and other abbreviations: "3 stars" or ✯✯✯ means aged for at least 2 years and is equivalent to the French V.S.

"4 stars" or ✯✯✯✯ means aged for at least 3 years

"5 stars" means the youngest distillate in the blend is at least 5 years old and is equivalent to the French V.S.O.P.

КВ /KV ("aged") corresponds to "XO" or "Napoléon", meaning the youngest distillate in the blend is at least 6 years old

КВВК /KVVK ("aged, superior quality") means blends over 8 years old and is used only for superior quality products

КС /KS ("old cognac"): means the youngest distillate in the blend is at least 10 years old

ОС /OS ("very old"): has no equivalent in the French system and refers to distillates aged over 20 years.
