Keep better control of your home security with the Tedee Door Sensor, designed for Tedee PRO, GO2 and GO smart locks.
A smart lock can confirm whether it is locked, but only a door sensor can verify that the door itself is physically closed.
This compact wireless accessory monitors the door’s position in real time and works together with your Tedee lock for enhanced security, convenience and automation.
The sensor consists of two components: a sensor and a magnet.
They are mounted on the inside of the door and frame using the included adhesive pads.
By detecting the position of the door leaf in relation to the frame, the system accurately determines whether the door is open or closed.
The current status is displayed in the Tedee app alongside the status of the smart lock.
The Tedee Door Sensor can help prevent the smart lock from locking automatically while the door is open.
It can also send push notifications if the door remains open longer than the configured time.
When activity logging is enabled in the Tedee app, the sensor records door opening and closing events separately from lock and unlock activity, allowing you to monitor the door independently of the lock status.
When paired with a Tedee Bridge connected to Wi-Fi, the sensor enables real-time remote status updates and notifications.
The Bridge is not required for operation: without it, the sensor synchronises locally via Bluetooth when you are near the smart lock, and activity logs are updated retrospectively.
Used with the Tedee smart lock’s pull spring function, the sensor also provides more intelligent operation.
When the door moves away from the frame, the lock can immediately stop retracting the latch.
This is particularly useful for inward-opening doors and can help optimise operation and reduce battery consumption.
For this feature, the pull spring retraction time should be adjusted in the lock settings.
Installation is quick, wireless and non-invasive.
The sensor should be mounted on the edge of the door furthest from the hinges, no more than 2 metres from the smart lock.
Calibration is required after installation.
The included CR2032 battery provides up to two years of operation, depending on usage.
