It absorbs gases and toxic substances ingested or resulting from metabolism.
Thus, it combats bloating and microorganism infections, eliminates hyperacidity, and helps in cases of enteritis, fermentative and putrefactive , , and food poisoning.
Oak has a high tannin content, substances responsible for its astringent, antidiarrheal, antiseptic, healing, and hemostatic properties.
