discuss all medical conditions with your doctor before taking this medicine, especially recent injury, surgery, infection with fever, or other forms of stress, liver or kidney problems, or glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency. This medicine may cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), particularly if you miss a meal, exercise more than usual, or drink alcohol. Symptoms of low blood sugar can include nausea, hunger, shaking, dizziness, confusion, sleepiness, restlessness, difficulty speaking, and sweating — ingestion of sugar or sweet juice may help. Must be used under medical supervision.
Allergy Warnings
Do not take if allergic to glimepiride, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, or any component of the medicine
Daily Dosage
Follow your doctor's instructions. Take with food, with the first meal of the day. Usual starting dose is 1 mg once daily with breakfast; your doctor may gradually increase to a maximum of 8 mg daily.
